Update...
Time for an update... Enzo Ponzio's 'Reworks' drops on the 25th on Pizzico including the Discodromo remix of 'Italian Boy' and my reworking of 'My 80's Funk'! I've been a huge fan of the label for some time now, and its a real pleasure to be able to get involved with them, not to mention return the favour to Enzo (if you haven't already, check out his awesome drum-machine heavy remix of 'Skycaptain' off the 'Ochre EP'). I'm currently working on some original tracks for the label too so watch this space...
Enzo Ponzio's 'Reworks' drops November 25th, when you can buy it here
For those of you in London this weekend, I'll be playing at Dalston's The Nest on Friday night, warming things up for none other than In Flagranti (Codek / Mindless Boogie)... I have yet to see them play so I'm really looking forward to it. Then on Saturday night I'm at Bad Dimension at The Horatia on Holloway Road, sharing the bill with the incredible Brassica (Dissident / Nocturnes), which will be a real treat for the ears! And on the topic of Bad Dimension, the team behind the night have asked me to join them on New Year's Eve when they host room 3 of The Horse & Groom in Shoreditch for Lasermagnetic's NYE Spectacular featuring the legend that is Ray Mang... its gonna be a big night!
Oh, if you missed my mix + mini-interview over at The Number 20 you can check it here! A big thanks again to them for their support, be sure to check their blog for more mixes, interviews and fine selections. And on that note, I'll leave you with this.

Bad Dimension
Attention all those in London this weekend.... I wanted to make some noise about a new monthly night starting up this Saturday at The Horatia on Holloway Road. It's called Bad Dimension, and promises to be a full on cosmic psyche-out with live performances from bands as well as DJs delivering a heady blend of dubbed-out disco, 60s psychedelia and plenty more. For the opening night guests The Oscillation take to the stage, backed up by a fantastic kaleidoscopic light show by photographic artist Julian Hand. The night goes on until 2am and entry is free!

Last minute bit of promo for my set at Orlando Boom this Saturday at The Queen of Hoxton. They've managed to bag Riton for the headline slot, along with a whole host of other guests - it's gonna be a big one!
On a separate note, my remix of Sheharzad's 'Yalla Yalla' was dropped earlier this week on none other than Aeroplane's latest monthly chart mix! Check it out here!

Yalla Yalla
Jens Loden's 'Worx' artist compilation comes out this coming Monday on Fine Art, including original tracks from Jens both under his own name and his Sheharzad project, plus remixes from the likes of Orlando Voorn and Henrik Schwarz. Also included is my remix of Sheharzad's 'Yalla Yalla'. I had the good fortune of winning a remix competition for the track run by Fine Art Recordings / Save Vinyl's Nitzan Hermon last summer, and I'm really pleased to finally be able to announce its release. After hearing the beautifully crafted stems I couldn't resist having a shot! A big thanks to Jens Loden and of course to Fine Art for their support!
The remix will also be released as a digital single alongside the compilation on Monday. Check it out!

Dance with the Devil
A real gem from British rock drummer Cozy Powell, famous for his contribution on recordings for a wide variety of noteworthy British artists, including Black Sabbath and Peter Green. Killer drum breaks and fantastic instrumentation and vocals, you can't go wrong. Released in 1973 on Rak.

Mille Morceaux
Parisian production duo Distant Planet kindly passed over a copy of their latest EP 'Mille Morceaux' the other day. They couple their own synth sounds with dusty funk breaks and obscure disco, electro and boogie-funk samples to create a refreshing take on the instrumental hip-hop / beats sound. They've allowed me to choose a track off the EP to post at 192kbps, and here it is, 'Encore toi'. Whilst it's one of the shorter of the bunch at only two minutes long, the pastiche of dusty vocals and swirling synths made it a winner for me; satisfyingly nostalgic but still sounding fresh!
Grab the EP here.

... And More
For the B-side to 'I Want More', German Krautrock pioneers Can created perhaps the first ever bonus beats in the form of '... And More', released on Harvest/Virgin in 1976. It's a killer hypnotic, organic groove, although sadly there's only 2 minutes 55 seconds worth of it. Begging for an edit...

Gimme the Funk
Posted this one up on The Goodness quite a while back, and here it is again for those who missed it last time. Camp boogie instrumental. Apologies for the dusty quality, I found this 45 in a friend's damp attic, along with other records which had actually started growing mold. Seriously. Still, it was a disco goldmine, and I was determined to rescue whatever I could. There's a fun Ottowan LP in there which I should probably rip sometime. But that's another post...

The original killer Teddy Pendergrass break DJ Sneak used for his instant classic Chicago house groove 'You Can't Hide From Your Bud' in 1997.
