I started this edit a couple months ago and never quite got round to finishing it until recently. Boogie-funk with an electro flavour at 105 bpm. From the 1983 album 'Joey' on the Matra/Unidisc label.

Je Suis C from London boogie/hip hop editeurs extraordinaire Ulysses 82 sent me their latest mix they did for the Red Rackem podcast, 'Snowcones & AC'. Party smashing boogie-funk with the trademark U82 hip-hop edge, with plenty of exclusive edits and bits. They're playing in London tomorrow at Computer Boogie with Black Shag from BeatElectric among others at The Star, Bethnal Green. Not to be missed!

'Tanzmusik' from Kraftwerk's 1973 album 'Ralf & Florian'. Unlike the colder, detached synth-driven sound made famous in their later work, 'Tanzmusik' features processed acoustic elements layered around an drum machine, retaining the rhythmic electronic edge but set against a warmer melodic context. Awe-inspiring.

My two favourite cuts from Oxford-based electronica outfit Keyboard Choir's 'Electrical Unity' EP. Rich ambient soundscapes created with a literal chorus of keyboads and synths. You can downoad the EP for free here. A big shout out to KC member Alex, a personal friend of 14 years and a fellow music obsessive (and massive Kid Breaks supporter!). He DJs quite regularly at the Brainlove Records nights at Koko in Camden and has also been busy in the studio putting together some solo productions which reflect his vast range of influences. Look out for his exclusive Kid Breaks DJ mix in the future and plenty more from Alex and the Choir.
