Southern Exposure
Picked up Southern Exposure's string laden hi-octane disco groover 'Love Is' a few weeks back and finally got round to finishing up my remix. I slowed it down to make it a little more cosmic and cut out everything apart from the bass breaks and huge buildup. Just wait til you hear those horns kick in.

Space Oddity
I came across this golden nugget of funky disco-soul goodness whilst listening to French DJ and library afficionado Jess' mix 'Tales from the Library' posted on Lovefingers. After getting in touch with the man himself about this particular jam, pointed me in the direction of a compilation he put together with fellow DJ Alexis Le-Tan, entitled 'Space Oddities'. It's an expertly picked selection of obscure library gems just like this one, and I highly recommend picking up a copy. This particular track is off one of the April Orchestra LPs, much sampled beatdigger favourites. I've been dropping it every time I've played in the last few months - the groove is great and the brass section just smash it. I love.

Cold Cutz
Probably the best dusty hip hop mixtape of all time? In my opinion - you bet. JS-One and Spinbad cut the shizzle out of loads of classic hip hop beats and acapellas, with some ridiculous - and I mean RIDICULOUS scratching. Highlights are practically every classic mid 90s hip hop jam in two minutes underneath KRS-One's 'Hip Hop vs Rap' and the tape running out mid-dub on the Common/Beatnuts jam. That's raw.

Sirens
Many apologies for the absence - I've just started a work experience placement at the BBC (!) which means I've had less time to find new bits. Will try and keep up the pace in future! Here's some quirky deep house outta Germany off the latest offering from Soulphiction. If you like this grab the whole EP here.
